Northwest film club to show work Friday at The Hangar

By Taylor Neff, media relations assistant

Northwest Missouri State University students will showcase their film productions during the Main Street Film Fest at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, at The Hangar in Maryville.

The films include short films, music videos and documentaries. Seating opens at 3 p.m., and the event is free and open to the public.

The festival is sponsored by the Independent Filmmakers Club, a student organization for Northwest students interested in film production. The club practices filmmaking as well as other creative aspects of film such as editing and post-production work.

“In the club, we make films of any nature outside of the classroom and have fun while doing it,” Matt Meier, the club’s vice president and an interactive digital media major from Kearney, said. “By the end of the trimester, we have high-quality productions to show future employers what we’ve done while here at Northwest.”
