Social Media Intern

DESCRIPTION

Career Services at Northwest Missouri State University is seeking one intern for the Spring 2013 trimester, to assist in the following areas:

•Develop and assist in implementing a social media and marketing strategy for both internal and external outreach. 
•Create and maintain a social media content editorial calendar
•Communicate exciting social media news; update social media outlets
•Track social media statistics
•Take photos and video of events and services for social media and web pages.
•Monitor social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter and answer questions concerning Career Services. Direct questions to staff as needed.
•Search resources for material to post via social media channels 
•Other duties as assigned

This is an unpaid part-time internship for Northwest academic credit. 

Hours per week: 5-8
Internship Start and End Dates: Jan. – May 2013

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic computer hardware/software knowledge. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 2000, Outlook, Internet Browsers and Google Docs. Knowledge of HTML preferred, but not required. Knowledge of Facebook requirements

•Solid writing skills. Ability to convey a message and communicate in short-form writing
•Social panache with a strong personal network
•Enthusiasm and passion for social media
•Detail oriented, team player
•Creative with new ideas
