DigEM (di-j ‘m) is an organization at Northwest Missouri State University for Interactive Digital Media majors, Multimedia minors, or any other student who is interested in Digital Electronic Media. The organization’s goal and purpose, according to the DigEM President, Cameron Ramaekers, is to “give students in the interactive digital media, computer science, and graphic designs fields a chance to network with professionals in their respective industries.”
Members of DigEM meet once a month, on Thursday at 6 p.m., in Colden Hall 3500. Anyone interested in attending these meetings is welcome. The only requirement of membership is $10 in annual dues.
DigEM offers students the opportunity to travel to surrounding business areas, including Kansas City and Omaha for informational sessions. Recently, fifty students attended a session presented by Wes Hardee, a recent IDM graduate and current web developer.
DigEM provides a means of communication between students interested in the areas of IDM and persons working in the professional environment and provides students with many opportunities for involvement and learning.
